Kimberly Ann McCowan was  considered to be a “PK”, a  preacher’s kid. Her father was the Pastor and founder of Life-Gate Bible Ministries. Just before she received the results that she had "passed" her Nursing Examination State Board, her father died. She recalls this time as being one of the saddest days of her life because she could not share the exciting news with her father. She believes that this was the defining point of her nursing practice and at that moment she made a conscious decision to care for her patients as if they were her family members. Kimberly has been a Registered Nurse for over 20 years focusing in the areas of Intensive Care and Emergency Room. She is continuing her professional development as a nurse and is obtaining her Master’s Degree in Nursing.
Kimberly’s passion is to see people healthy; emotionally, physically, and spiritually. She  has a special place in her heart for young people and remembers working with children as early as 11 years of age. She is continuing in her father’s vision to reach out to the needy by opening up transitional homes for teens called “Life-Gate Transitional Homes for Teens”

Kimberly’s desire is that women of all ages be empowered, equipped and educated.  She is committed to living a life that exemplifies confidence, grace and wisdom that comes as a result of her personal relationship with God. It is evident that Kimberly is real and practical in her approach as she shares the struggles and victories in her book, “The Ten Commandments of a Blended Family.” She has a genuine heart to see others excel and hopes that others reach their full potential in Christ.
